Spanish Team Continues 2026 Success

Guangzhou, China – 19th May, 2026: Kailas FUGA Team elite trail athlete Fran ANGUITA BAYO celebrated a victory at Transvulcania Marathon in La Palma Island, setting a new course record for the 43.2k / 1884m total elevation course of just 3:39:03. Recently returning from injury, Fran went out strong to achieve a toughly-fought win on the course that begins at an altitude of 1,450m at the El Pilar Refuge descending down to the sea at Puerto de Tazacorte.

ANGUITA explained, “Crossing the Transvulcania finish line as the winner was an explosion of emotions – a rush of adrenaline and happiness all in a single second. I was able to stay at the front the entire way up, controlling my effort and waiting for the long 17k descent before breaking away. I was able to maintain a great pace through the descent and secure first place.”

ANGUITA from Spain joined Kailas FUGA Team in 2023. This win builds on successes during the past year, including a win at the Canyon Trail 51k (2025); second place at the Grand Raid des Pyrenees – Tour du Neousvielle; second place at the 2026 The North Face Transgrancanaria Marathon 50k; and winner of the Tenerife Bluetrail by UTMB 24k in 2024.

Jose Ángel FERNÁNDEZ ‘CANALES’ (ITRA 897) won the 2026 FUGA Penyagalosa Trails Men’s 60k / 3230m for the fourth consecutive year in just 5:15:09.
